It was towards the beginning of 2005, that Divine Mercy Church, Ambattur, began working as a unit under St. Thomas Pastoral Centre, Ayanavaram. After the Popular Mission Retreat conducted in February 2005, there was a massive progress in the activities of the unit. Rev.Fr. Jose Vettiyangal VC, was in charge of the unit during this period. After his tenure, Rev.Fr. Thomas Ambattukuzhi VC led the unit, which was later followed by Rev.Fr. Mathew Kakatupulli VC.
